APP STORE / PURCHASE & INSTALLATION
Shadowrocket Download Guide
Shadowrocket is a paid client for Apple platforms. It’s a one-time purchase, available exclusively on the App Store. This guide covers the purchase process, from storefront region and app verification to device installation and restoring purchases. Check the App Store listing for current pricing and compatibility.
Storefront and Apple ID region
Shadowrocket isn’t available on the mainland China App Store. If you can’t find it, first check which storefront you’re using rather than trying different search terms. The country or region associated with your Apple ID determines which storefront you see. Your physical location, device language, and the storefront path shown in a product link don’t determine your account’s storefront.
On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. Authenticate if prompted, then check the region shown. Labels such as your name or “Apple Account” may vary across system versions; follow the wording on your device. The account used for media purchases may differ from the one used for other device services, so make sure you’re checking Media & Purchases.
To find Apple’s official option for changing your region, open “Country/Region” and select “Change Country or Region.” This explains where to find the setting; it doesn’t guarantee your account is eligible to change regions. Eligibility may depend on your account balance, active subscriptions, Family Sharing settings, and payment requirements in the destination region. Follow the requirements Apple displays, and don’t ignore any account restrictions just to buy the app.
This page links to the US storefront, but opening the link won’t change your account region. Being able to view the app listing in a browser doesn’t mean your account can purchase it. Follow the price, availability, and account messages shown in the App Store. If you see “Not available in your country or region,” check your account region and storefront availability rather than treating it as a client connection issue.
VERIFY / THREE APP DETAILS
Developer, icon, and app ID
Verify the App Store listing first, then use the official screenshots to identify the interface. A similar name or icon is no substitute for checking all three details.
Check each detail on the product page
First, check the developer name: Shadow Launch Technology Limited. On the product page, verify the full name in the developer link near the app name or in the provider information. Search results may truncate details, so don’t confirm a purchase from the listing title alone or treat search result order as proof of identity.
Next, check the official app icon: a rocket outlined in blue-violet on a white background. It should match the icon shown above and in the page header. Use the icon as a visual aid, not as the sole basis for identification. If another app has a similar name or color scheme, verify the developer information and product URL as well.
Finally, check the app ID: 932747118. The product URL linked from this page ends in id932747118. This number identifies the app, not its version. The currency or description language may vary between storefronts, so verify the app ID regardless.
Screenshots show the interface, not connection results
The two images on the right are official App Store screenshots. Home shows Not Connected, Global Routing, Connectivity Test, and the SERVER group. Add Server shows fields such as Type, Host, Port, Password, and Method. They show where to find these items in the interface, not that a newly installed device already has the same server details.
The official screenshots use English. In the app, labels and layout may vary with the system language, device size, or app updates. Not Connected is a connection status, not a purchase error. If your configuration isn’t shown on Home, that doesn’t mean you downloaded the wrong app. Verify the purchase using the three App Store details; check connection status against your own configuration.
Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app. Get and update it through the App Store. This official guide on the product website explains how to verify the app and complete the purchase. For connection setup after installation, see the Getting Started guide. Purchasing the app and entering server details are separate steps.
IPHONE / FIRST INSTALL
Buy and open Shadowrocket on iPhone
Before purchasing, expand the compatibility details on the App Store product page and check that your iPhone meets the requirements. System requirements are determined by the App Store listing. Don’t assume compatibility based only on whether the app installs on another device. Then confirm the Media & Purchases account, listed price, and payment method, and follow the system prompts to complete the purchase. The App Store processes payment; check its confirmation and your account purchase history to verify the transaction.
- Complete the purchase and wait for the app icon to appear. If the download is pending or still in progress, check your network connection and available device storage. Continue to setup only after installation is complete.
- Open Home and get your existing configuration ready. Go to Add Server and enter the details you have, or follow the Getting Started guide to import an existing subscription. The client doesn’t generate your server address, password, or subscription when you complete a purchase.
- Review the system authorization prompt the first time you connect. The client uses the system VPN configuration to establish connections. You may be asked to allow adding a VPN configuration and to authenticate. Confirm the request comes from Shadowrocket, then follow your device’s prompt to allow or deny it.
VPN configuration authorization is system-level permission to connect. It isn’t a new app purchase and doesn’t mean the connection has succeeded. After authorizing, check the selected configuration, Global Routing status, and actual access results. If you canceled the system prompt, try connecting again and follow the new prompt. Don’t mistake a connection failure caused by denied authorization for an invalid subscription format.
In Global Routing, Config, Proxy, and Direct correspond to Config / Proxy / Direct. When you’ve just installed the app, check the current selection before connecting: Config depends on enabled configuration rules, while Proxy and Direct change the overall routing mode. Purchasing and authorizing the app are just preparation. Choose a mode based on your existing configuration rather than switching settings just to see a different connection status.
IPAD / PURCHASE ELIGIBILITY
Install on iPad and other compatible devices
Shadowrocket works on iPhone and iPad. After purchasing with an Apple ID, you can find and redownload the app on a compatible iPad without usually needing to buy it again. Before downloading, make sure Media & Purchases is signed in with the original purchasing account. The same name on two devices doesn’t necessarily mean they’re using the same Apple ID.
iPadOS provides more screen space, so lists and settings may look different from their iPhone counterparts. Look for the relevant controls by their interface labels, such as Home, Add Server, Config, and Settings. If a button is in a different place, don’t add the same configuration again. Check whether the item is already in the list before importing or editing it.
Purchase eligibility and in-app configuration are separate. Even if your iPad recognizes the app as purchased, check that your subscription, server details, and active Config are available on that device. The two devices may have different selections. Don’t assume the iPad uses the same routing mode and rules just because a connection worked on your iPhone.
Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision
The compatibility section of the same App Store product page also lists Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. To use the app, check the same product in the App Store on the relevant device. System requirements, device compatibility, whether the same purchase applies, and purchase eligibility are all determined by the App Store listing. This guide doesn’t assume the iPhone and iPad instructions apply to other devices or that all devices have the same interface.
RESTORE / REDOWNLOAD PURCHASES
New devices, reinstalling, and purchase history
Restore the app first, then check your connection configuration. Reinstalling the app doesn’t automatically restore all of its settings.
If you get a new iPhone, add an iPad, or reinstall the app after deleting it, start by checking the original purchase. Sign in with the Apple ID used to buy Shadowrocket, then open App Store → Account → Purchased, find Shadowrocket, and download it again. On some system versions, the option may appear under “Apps” or “My Apps”; use the label shown on your device. If the purchase is recognized, you’ll usually see an option to download again without paying a second time.
If the product page still shows a price, pause before confirming payment again. Check that Media & Purchases is signed in with the original purchasing account, then look for the app in your purchase history. Also check whether you’ve changed your account region, hidden the purchased item, or switched to a storefront where the app is unavailable. Purchase history can help distinguish an unrecognized purchase from an app that can’t currently be downloaded; these issues have different resolution steps.
A family member’s purchase history doesn’t automatically count as a purchase by your account. Check the App Store listing and your current Family Sharing settings to see whether purchase sharing is supported, which family members are eligible, and how to access a shared purchase. If eligibility isn’t confirmed, don’t assume you can restore the app just because a family member has installed it.
Check your configuration after restoring
After installing the app on a new device, check Home and Config to see whether a usable configuration is already available. If not, reimport your saved subscription or server details. If you plan to restore from a backup, first verify its contents and date. Save any information you need before deleting the app; purchase history isn’t a backup of your connection settings.
After importing, check the selected server, active Config, Global Routing, and system VPN authorization in order. If a subscription’s address or access permissions have changed, use your current valid details; buying the client again won’t fix it. If the connection fails, note the error and follow the verification and troubleshooting steps in Getting Started to check each item. This is more useful than repeatedly reinstalling the app.
When describing an issue to someone else, say which step produced the error, whether the device has been authorized, and whether the App Store shows the app as purchased. Don’t include passwords, full subscription URLs, or other sensitive connection details in screenshots. App purchase records and connection credentials serve different purposes and should be stored separately.
PRICE / ONE-TIME PURCHASE
How much does Shadowrocket cost, and what does the purchase include?
The reference price for Shadowrocket in the US storefront is $2.99, as a one-time purchase. The current App Store listing shows the actual price. Other storefronts display local currencies, and the final charge may depend on storefront pricing and tax rules. Don’t convert the US price into a fixed price for other regions; check the amount shown in your account’s storefront before purchasing.
A one-time purchase covers the client itself; there’s no monthly fee to use the app. The purchase is associated with the Apple ID used for the transaction. To download it again later, use the Purchased section for that account. Updates are provided through the App Store; you can use automatic updates or check for updates manually. Refer to the App Store listing for update details and applicable system requirements.
The client reads connection details, handles requests according to your configuration, and applies routing rules. Check server availability, account validity, and service term with the relevant provider. A successful payment confirms the app transaction only; it doesn’t prove an external server is available or indicate connection speed or reliability.
If you’ve been charged but the app hasn’t finished installing, check the App Store purchase status, account messages, and download progress first. If the app opens but the connection fails, move on to configuration and connection diagnostics. Identifying the right step helps keep payment, installation, authorization, and server connectivity from being treated as the same issue.
For purchase history, billing issues, or refunds, use the relevant purchase record and support options in your App Store account. Apple’s displayed rules determine eligibility. This guide explains how to verify information; it can’t determine transaction outcomes or promise a refund.
FAQ / PURCHASE QUESTIONS
Common questions about searching, downloading, and restoring purchases
Why can’t I find Shadowrocket on the App Store?
Shadowrocket isn’t available on the mainland China App Store. Store listings depend on the country or region of the Apple ID signed in to Media & Purchases, not the device language. Check the account region under Media & Purchases in Settings, then open the product page linked here. Availability is determined by what the current storefront displays.
Why can’t I download Shadowrocket after opening its product page?
Note the exact App Store message, then check your account region, payment status, available device storage, network connection, and compatibility. Resolve account or billing issues in your App Store account settings. Don’t repeatedly confirm the purchase.
Do I have to pay again when I get a new iPhone or reinstall the app?
Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase, find Shadowrocket in your App Store purchase history, and download it again. You usually won’t have to pay again. If a price still appears, check the purchasing account and transaction history, then confirm the app is available in your current storefront. Restoring the app and restoring its connection configuration are separate processes.
Can I install Shadowrocket on my iPad after buying it on iPhone?
Shadowrocket works on both iPhone and iPad. Once purchased with the same Apple ID, it can be downloaded again on a compatible iPad. Check the App Store listing for system requirements and purchase eligibility. After installation, you’ll still need to check or import your own connection configuration.
Can I install Shadowrocket on Mac, Apple TV, or Apple Vision?
The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision. Check the App Store on the device you want to use. System requirements, compatibility, and whether the purchase applies are determined by the App Store listing.
Does seeing an English interface mean I downloaded the wrong app?
The interface language alone isn’t enough to tell. Verify the developer, Shadow Launch Technology Limited, the official app icon, and app ID 932747118. The official screenshots use the English interface. This guide keeps labels such as Home, Global Routing, and Add Server in their original form for easy reference.
